My neighbors own the upstairs patio, and I have a feeling they’d get suspicous of someone climing up their wall in the late evening to fix his dish. The vast majority of my channels are now de-watchable until the snow melts. The spot beam signals are still pretty strong (Transponder 18 is the Seattle locals). Too bad the simpsons aren’t on for another 20 minutes on FOX. I guess I’ll go post a blog entry while I wait! The funny thing is that I had Primestar/DirecTV growing up in Eastern Washington (near Colville) where we always had a LOT of snow thru the winters. Very rarely would we have an outage on the satellite. Only the worst of the bad thunderstorms would cause a temporary signal loss — but at that time we’d unplug the TV to keep it from getting fried from lightning strikes and power brownouts/blackouts/surges. Happy first snow day for Auburn!

The only problem with being forced to mount your satellite dish on the roof due to Condo/multi-dwelling unit rules?

No way to get to the dish to wipe the snow off the LNB.
